This exhibition follows on from Deanna Petherbridge’s highly- acclaimed retrospective at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester (2016-17). But where the Whitworth show guided us from the 60s, when she took the radical decision to work exclusively with pen and ink drawing on paper, to the present, this is a more focused selection of recent work.At its heart are The Destruction of the City of Homs and The Destruction of Palmyra: two monumental works that highlight a determination to challenge head-on the political issues, and even the atrocities, of our time.
