As we worked on this catalogue and the exhibition it accompanies George Rowlett passed away unexpectedly. Aged 84 and still working most days the news came as a profound shock. What had ended was a working partnership of more than 3 decades and this exhibition, originally conceived as a celebration of new developments in his work was to become an exhibition of his last paintings.
