Art Space Gallery is delighted to present This Holding Sea, the first major showing of new work by Nick Miller that spans nearly a decade during which time he has challenged himself to paint the sea where he lives on the northwest coast of Ireland. It is an extraordinary and experimental series of large oil on panel paintings dating from 2020–25 and earlier watercolours from 2018–21 that together celebrate the challenge of painting the sea from the experiences of being within the water rather than from the shore line looking out.
